The Royal Commission for AlAula (RCU) sought to create a platform that would establish the region as a destination for design excellence and creative inspiration. Part of its larger arts and culture framework; RCU wanted to launch the pilot of AlUla Design Award consisting initially of a product design open call geared towards retail offerings and VVIP gifting. These outcomes had to be seamlessly integrated into a strategy and program that creates systemic impact.
The Approach
ADA was strategically designed and developed with a trajectory of eventually becoming part of a wider design framework and narrative strategy. &bouqu worked with the Arts and Culture arm of RCU to further refine key messaging and impact of ADA, only thereafter designing the overall program structure, mechanics, and execution of its pilot cycle. This turnkey approach covered the full scope of branding strategy, jury members, stakeholder management, open call application, PR and communications, pavilion execution, awarding ceremony and development of the products.
